It is mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration that workplaces that have workers at height need a certified individual in staff that can assess hazardous situations and implement safe, compliant.
With the 2 days of classroom training, your employees can earn our Competent Person Certification meeting the requirements in OSHA 1926.32(f), 1926.500 and 1910 standards. Please keep in mind that the standard requires that a competent person have not only the knowledge, but also the authority to implement safe work practices. Consider this expectation when deciding who to send to the class.
The program includes a 12 hour course, held on location at our facility in Elgin, Illinois.
Topics covered include:
An introduction to fall prevention and protection
Identifying fall hazards.
Recognizing and controlling hazards
Thedifference between fall arrest and fall restraint
Inspecting and assessing fall arrest systems
Determination of free fall and deceleration distances
Care of protection equipment
Selection and use of anchorages
Those who regularly use fall protection equipment, who distribute safety products, or safety directors and/or managers may all benefit from this course. Exercises and skill assessment will be performed during the course to ensure understanding.
Class size is limited to 15 participants.
The cost of enrollment is $395 per person.
